To acquire property for a permanent Vipassana Centre in Ireland

After more than 25 years of renting facilities, the Irish Vipassana Trust (IVT) has begun seeking to acquire a suitable property for permanent Vipassana Centre in Ireland. The time has come to work towards establishing a Dhamma Centre that can serve students in Ireland for generations to come.

A place where sīla can be carefully maintained, and nothing apart from samādhi and pañña are practiced, that will be of enormous benefit to the Dhamma community, and all those who come to learn Vipassana.

How To Get Involved 

• Serve on courses, attend group sittings and trust meetings.
• Speak to members of the Trust and discuss how you can help.
• Join a committee to help build the Vipassana community in Ireland.

Finances

• Property acquisition is expected to cost in region of €700K - €1.2M
• IVT currently has €140K (approx. on May 1st 2024).
• Donations of any amount are welcome from old students.
• IVT can receive tax back on donations of €250 (and above) per year. This donation can be a once-off or a number of smaller donations made by an individual within a period of 12 months.
• Monthly standing orders are particularly helpful.
